Summary: Jack knows there's no way to cover up the destruction of Torchwood One. A double drabble.
Jack took one look at his team and saw in their faces that they felt how he felt: overwhelmed and shocked to the core. He'd never had any love for the people who ran Torchwood One, but neither could he justify in his mind that they deserved this. Most of them were just innocent people doing their jobs. Only a handful were truly to blame and they were all dead now.
'Jack.' Tosh looked harried as she approached him, as if she could scarcely comprehend where to begin. 'We can't contain this. It's seeping out everywhere. Every media outlet across the UK is showing footage of cybermen in the streets and I can't stop it. 'She'd never had to come up with a cover story this big. None of them had.
He sighed. 'Let them report what they want to report.' She was right. It was too big to cover up.
She frowned at him. 'Seriously? Clearly she expected him to have all the answers.'
'We either go public with the entire Torchwood programme or we pack it all up and quietly ship it back to Cardiff and hope no one notices.' All they could do was protect what remained.
