Summary: It just wouldn't be right to turn away those in need on Christmas.
 

'How's this for weird?' Ianto said, raising his glass to clink with Jack's own. 'Christmas at home, just the two of us. No crazy aliens and no crazy family.'

'Feels weird doesn't it?'

'I like this whole visiting on Christmas Eve.'

'At least every alternate year,' Jack agreed. 'Now we have all day to just do us.'

'I don't think I'm  going to be up for whatever you have in mind,' Ianto warned him. 'I'll be so stuffed full of food that I won't even be able to move.'

'I can be accommodating,' Jack said, grinning over his wine glass. He picked up a large piece of roast turkey and was about to shove it in his mouth whole when the door bell rang.

'Who's that?'

'Oh, you don't think?' Jack said, a smile spreading across his face.

'I hope not,' Ianto said. 'If it is, tell him to come back Boxing Day.'

Jack chuckled, getting up from the table to answer the door. He'd never turn The Doctor away, no matter how much Ianto pretended to grumble.

When he tugged open the door against the blustery and slightly snowy day outside, he was surprised to find Sergeant Andy standing there. 'Uh, just so you know, we're off the clock,' Jack told him. 'Unless the world's ending of course, in which case I'm pretty sure we'd already know.'

'Don't even joke about things like that,' Andy said. 'Anyway, so my apartment block got flooded and they've moved everyone out for the next forty eight hours. Gwen's in Swansea with her folks so I was wondering if you maybe had a spare sofa I could kip on for the night? And yes, I am that desperate.'

'Of course we have,' Ianto replied. 'And you're just in time for Christmas lunch.'
