Summary: Jack should have taken a bit of his own advice. A double drabble.
‘Don't get too close to it, Jack said,’ Owen grumbled, puffing and panting as he dragged Jack’s dead body along the corridor, even if Ianto was doing most of the heavy lifting with the top end, leaving Owen with the backbreaking task of carrying his legs, and failing miserably as the boots scraped loudly along the concrete.
‘Well, he was right, wasn’t he?’ Ianto replied, turning a corner into the medical suite. ‘And it was an accident.’ If lugging Jack down the hallway had been bad, it was nothing compared to having to lift him up onto the bed. Good thing Ianto had him gripped tightly so that the stupid git didn't add a cracked skull to his problems.
Once on the bed, Ianto stroked Jack's hair back from his face. ‘Think you can do something about this burn?’ he asked, indicating where the alien had electrocuted Jack with about twenty thousand volts, leaving a horrible scorch mark on his arm.
‘It’ll heal on its own just like the rest of him,’ Owen said, feeling unsympathetic at their leader’s blasé attitude to safety when he strangled the rest of them with safety procedure and protocol.
Ianto scowled. ‘Do something anyway.’
