Summary: Ianto has to accept the consequences of making his relationship public. A double drabble.
‘Jack and Ianto sitting in a tree…’ Owen sing-songed, making sure Ianto was well within earshot.
‘Tell me you have some work to do, Owen,’ Ianto replied, gripping his clipboard a little bit tighter than was strictly necessary. ‘I mean, with Gwen on her honeymoon, you should be more than busy enough.’
Owen smirked. ‘And people say me being dead makes me a humourless bastard. Take a joke, Teaboy.’ He paused and let the teasing words settle. ‘Bet you loved that dance at the wedding, you and Jack all swaying and lovey dovey.’
‘We’re not lovey dovey!’ The clipboard went smacking onto the desk. ‘It was one dance. He’d been a bloody nag about it all week.’
‘Yeah, well you didn’t exactly disappoint, did you? Might as well have been snogging him off. Lucky Gwen’s got her bloke the way you stole him out from under her.’
‘I didn’t–’ then Ianto stopped, knowing arguing with Owen was futile. He’d known what he was doing that night and there was no point denying it. Everybody knew what they were now. ‘He was doing that whole hero thing with her. Rhys might have socked him one.’
‘So you saved him. How romantic!’
