'That is disgusting,' Owen said, pulling faces at the petri dish full of brown goo. It was just a small sample of a much larger pile that had been collecting in the corner of the cells where their latest guest had resided - at least until it had decided to spontaneously combust.

Jack ignored the comment, continuing to swirl a metal spatula through it. 'It's actually fascinating. This stuff has multiple practical applications.'

'Oh yeah? Name one.'

'Well, it can be converted into a kind of super adhesive. Alien super glue, if you will.'

'What else?'

'Actually, that's pretty much it.'
